NIA demontiert eigene Community

NIA hat nun angekündigt den REDACTED Scanner, die erste Version von Ingress wie geplant, am 30 September abzuschalten.

Gleichzeitig hört man das, was man vorher nur vereinzelt zu vernehmen war. Viele Spieler verlassen das für sie sinkende Schiff. Zu stark sind die Veränderungen des Clients auf Ingress Prime.

At the beginning of the year, we announced plans to retire Scanner [Redacted] in September. Since then, our team has continued to iterate on Ingress Prime, launching new features like Dynamic Brightness, Events, and an improved Portal submission process.

Today, we’re announcing that Scanner [Redacted] will be retired on Monday, September 30. Thank you to all Agents who joined the ongoing global fight for Mind Units and control of the Portal Network. Going forward, Agents can continue to access Ingress by using the Ingress Prime app.

Andrew Krug, Global Community Manager für Ingress kommentierte kürzlich:
‘…I’m not asking at the Ingress GCM. I’m asking as someone who like to conversate with people. But it’s hard to have a conversation when the position expressed is, “Prime is unusable” or “Prime is so easy to use”. If you went to the doctor with sprained ankle would you say, “I can’t walk because my body hurts.”? Odd comparison… but you get my point...’

Die Aussage kann man schon als ‘Schlag in die Fresse’ eines jeden Fan des ersten Ingress-Spiels sehen, während es natürlich richtig ist darauf hinzuweisen, dass nur konstruktive Kritik dem Spiel weiterhilft darf dabei nicht vergessen werden, dass bereits mehrere Anläufe dieser Art gegeben hat, die von NIA einfach ignoriert wurden.

Ich würde auch nach dem Ausscheiden des Scanners noch gerne weiter Ingress spielen, nicht weil ich den Scanner so geil finde, sondern die Menschen!
